Walter E. Merrill

Walter E. Merrill, 84, of Kankakee, formerly of Clifton, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Arcadia Care in Clifton. He was born in Bradley on April 20, 1937, a son of Ransom and Clara (Ward) Merrill. He married Sandra M. Donar in Kankakee on February 20, 1959 and she survives. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews along with many great nieces and nephews.
Walter was preceded in death by both parents; three sisters; and eight brothers. One brother, Larry O. Merrill, is listed MIA from during the Korean Conflict.
Walter served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1959 during the Korean Conflict. He had several hobbies which he enjoyed including woodworking, doing puzzles, gardening, and was an avid reader.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
Arrangements are by the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.
Memorials may be given to Uplifted Care in Bourbonnais.
