Virden R. Hokanson

Virden R. Hokanson, 94 of Ashkum went to meet his Lord and Savior on Friday November 27, 2020 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. He was born July 31, 1926 in Ashkum a son of Carl and Viola Carlson Hokanson.
Virden married Cherie Mosimann in Ashkum on April 19, 1958 and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters- Connie (Henry) Schussler of Mattoon, Wanda (Christopher) Kinch of Caerphilly, Wales; one son- Carl (Jeana) Hokanson of Chebanse; three grandchildren- Audrey Schussler, Karl (Taylor) Hokanson, and Hannah Hokanson. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers- Charles and Francis Hokanson; three sisters- Ethel Hokanson, Olga Bayless, and Darlene Billerbeck.
Virden served in the US Navy during WW II in the Phillipines and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Chebanse.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday December 1, 2020 at 10:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Chebanse. Burial will be in Ashkum Cemetery with graveside military rites provided by Ashkum American Legion.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Chebanse.
Arrangements are by the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.
