Suzie Mcconnell

Suzie McConnell, 60, of Piper City passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at OSF Transitional Care Hospital in Peoria. She was born on August 28, 1962 in Watseka, a daughter of William McConnell and Nancy (Giroux) Hull; they preceded her death, along with her brother Doug McConnell; one sister, Tammy Brandenburg; her mother-in-law, Dottie Gerhart.

She is survived by the love of her life, Clay Gerhart of Piper City; one son, Jordan (Jonathon) Wilson-Holliman of Champaign; one daughter, Megan Biskie (Tyler Gilmore) of Piper City; two stepsons Bryan (Kasey) Gerhart of North Carolina; Chris (Kimberley) Gerhart of Hawaii; one sister, Amy Watkins of Sheldon; and four granddaughters, Braylee Biskie of Piper City; Charlotte, Savannah and Caroline Gerhart of North Carolina; father-in-law, Bruce Gerhart of Piper City; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Suzie was passionate about spending time with her granddaughter and dog, Gizmo. She enjoyed camping and dirt track racing with friends. Suzie had a big heart and enjoyed giving to others in any way she could. She was employed by Incobrasa in Gilman.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman. Pastor Ashley Clifton will officiate and burial will follow in the Wenger Cemetery in Gilman.

Memorials may be given to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
