Rheta Anne Bretzman

Rheta Anne Bretzman, 87, of Milford passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on December 14, 1935 in Leonard, a daughter of Charles and Loretta (Meints) Dexter. Rheta married William J. "Bill" Bretzman in Danforth on July 11, 1954 and he preceded her in death on April 28, 2000.

Surviving are two sons, William C. (Connie) Bretzman of Chebanse and Eric Bretzman of Milford; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Raymond (Nancy) Rohr of Florida, who lived with Rheta for many years.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother; one sister; and one daughter, Lori Loveless.

Mrs. Bretzman was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Milford, where she enjoyed going to Bible Study two times a week. She was a member of the Dorcus Society, was in the Quilting Club, and also loved to knit and crochet. Rheta first worked at a dry cleaners in Gilman and later worked for Decker's Livestock, where she retired after 39 years. She enjoyed playing cards, but most of all, she loved being with her family, friends, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm on Monday, October 9, 2023 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Milford as well as one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at church. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Milford with Rev. Doug Minton officiating. Burial will follow at the Sugar Creek Cemetery in Stockland.

Memorials may be given to Our Savior Lutheran Radio Ministry, Mahlah Comfort Dog Ministry, or to the donor's choice.
