Neil O. Larimore, 86 of Milford passed away on Tuesday September 5, 2023 at his home. He was born on June 19, 1937 in Payson, IL a son of Omer and Lucy Mae (Griggs) Larimore. Neil married Darlene F. Slater in Hull, IL on October 23, 1955 and she preceded him in death on December 7, 2021. Also preceding him in death are his parents; infant brother, Gerald; sister, Maxine Sloniger; and brother, Marvin Larimore.
Survivors include four daughters- Teresa (Richard) Hancock of Milford, Deborah (Sid) Allen of Milford, Linda Larimore of Milford, and Valerie (Tim) Ward of Milford; 11 grandchildren- Sara (Josh) Seyfert, Samantha (Brandon) Davey, Cornisha Allen, Corwin Allen, Nicholas Allen, Jill (Jason) Gooding, Brianna (Tom) Sechriest, Wyatt (fiancé Olivia Henning) Alt, Sierra (Justin) Moyer, Macy (Brandon) Kranz, and Ryley (Jaclyn) Ward; sixteen great grandchildren- Sydney, Sam, and Seth, Brooklyn and Eleanor, Parker, Weston, and Chase, Kylin and Audyn, Victoria, Felicity, and Jeremiah, Brinley and Declan, Braxton, and one on the way; three sisters- Donna Mibbs of Chandlerville, IL, Janet (Dan) Bingaman of Barry, IL, and Marcia Copher of Fowler.
Neil graduated from Seymore High School, Lincoln Christian College, and Kentucky Christian College in Grayson, KY. He served as a minister to the following churches- Southside Church of Christ in Quincy, Lindell Ave. Church of Christ in Hanibal, MO, Onarga Christian Church in Onarga, Milford Christian Church in Milford, Sheldon Church of Christ in Sheldon, and Roberts Congregational Church in Roberts. He was a school bus driver for 50 years in Lincoln, Onarga, Milford, and Wellington. He was Prairie States Christian Camp manager in Watseka for 26 years and worked other areas of the camp for over 50 years. Neil loved playing softball, ping pong, coon hunting, St Louis Cardinal baseball, Milford school sports, and enjoyed raising goats and woodworking.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Milford Christian Church at 12:00 noon with Pastors Brent Zastrow, Gary Milton, Dustin Wells, and Joe Hughes officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 3:30-7:00 pm at Milford Christian Church. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Milford.
Memorials may be made to Prairie States Christian Camp, Milford Ambulance, Milford Christian Church, or Donor’s Choice.
