Matilda "Jane" Smith

Matilda "Jane" Smith, 96, of Watseka passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Heritage Woods in Watseka.
Jane was born on January 31, 1927 in Stockland, the daughter of John and Clarissa (Nolin) Houmes and they preceded her in death. She married Claire D. Smith on June 30, 1946 in Watseka and he preceded her in death on November 12, 2011. She was also preceded in death by four brothers; two sisters; one foster son, Don Gore; and one adopted son, Ramon Gama.
She is survived by one daughter, Lois (Robert) Dyer of Greeneville, TN; one son, William (Cheryl) Smith of Forest, VA; nine grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and one foster daughter-in-law, Mai Gore.
Jane was a member of Trinity Church in Watseka.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Trinity Church in Watseka with Pastor Bob Kracht and Pastor Bart Koester officiating. Private burial will be held at Sugar Creek Cemetery in Stockland.
Memorials may be given to Rio Grande Bible School - Edinburg, Texas or Donor's Choice.
