Mary Lynn Fuller, 75, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the Lakeland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lakeland, Florida. She was born on April 15, 1947 in Chicago to George Joseph and Myrtle Mae (Diercouff) Hayes. After her father's death, Dale Johnson became her step-father. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister.
Mary is survived by one son, Eric (Lisa) Fuller of Lakeland, Florida; four grandchildren, Daniel Wolford, Halie (Landon) Covic, Michael Johnston, and Lindsie Fuller; and three great-grandchildren who called her "Mimi", Gracelynn Covic, Bryson Covic and Aubrielle Covic. Other survivors are siblings, nieces and nephews plus her furry pal, Nola Mischief.
She was a Piper City High School graduate and furthered her education at the U of I and OSU. Not only did she help to reunite many but was a strong advocate for the rights of adoptees for over 50 years.
As a youth, she attended St. Peter Catholic Church in Piper City and later on in her life she became a member of Holy Cross in Champaign.
Funeral Mass for Mary will be held at a later date at the St. Peter Catholic Church in Piper City with burial in the Calvary Cemetery in Piper City.
At Mary Lynn's request, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Circulation Foundation.
