Mary Louise Carter, 79, of Sheldon passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka. She was born on April 2, 1942 in Milford, the daughter of Abe and Lucille (Schroeder) Johnson. She married Bob E. Carter in San Miguel, California on August 9, 1962 and he preceded her in death on April 4, 1995.
Mary is survived by one daughter, Stacey (Russell) Dailey of Sheldon; two sons, Bob (partner, Tracey) Carter of Kentland, Indiana and Daren (Jennifer) Carter of Watseka; two sisters, Delores Dudan of Marseilles and Shirley McReynolds of Rantoul; one brother, Larry Johnson of Oakland; four grandchildren, Tyler Carter, Makala Carter, Garen Carter and Christopher Carter; and two great-grandchildren, Silas Carter and Romona Jane Carter.
Mary was preceded her death by her parents, one sister, Beverly Anderson; and one son, Christopher Carter.
She was a dietary cook at Sheldon Health Care for 35 years. She loved polka music and spending time with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Burial will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery in Stockland at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
