Lewis "Lew" Worthington Goetz, 89, of Mission Hills, KS and formerly of Watseka passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at his residence.
Lew was born on October 8, 1933 in Watseka, the son of Lewis H. and Esther (Sweet) Goetz and they preceded him in death. He married Merrily Leininger on October 5, 1991 in Chicago.
He is survived by his wife, Merrily Goetz of Mission Hills, KS; two sons, Jeff (Jessica) Goetz of Quincy, IL and Matt Goetz of Laramie, WY; five grandchildren, Blase, Vassy, Jackson, Dexter, and Adelina.
Lew attended Watseka Community High School, graduated from Harvard University, and later earned his EMP (Executive Management Program) from Penn State. He served in the United States Navy.
Lew spent his career in manufacturing, starting out as a Production Manager and in the last twenty-five years of his career was Vice President of TRW, President of a subsidiary of Crane Corporation, and then CEO of a privately held company. He served on the Board of Directors of both profit and non-profit companies that included The University of Massachusetts Business School, Franklin County Hospital, and the Mark Twain Bank of Kansas City.
Private graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka.
