Leslie E. "Jr" Bork Jr.

Leslie E. "JR" Bork Jr., 88, of Onarga passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Faith Place in Danforth. He was born February 28, 1934 in Oak Park, a son of Leslie E. and Ruth (Hockersmith) Bork Sr. JR married Joyce Froehling in Gilman on June 28, 1959.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Bork of Onarga; one brother, Carl (Mary) Bork of Onarga; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Earl Bork; and one son, Patrick E. Bork.

JR was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Gilman. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Along with his family, he was owner and operator of Bork Nursery for nearly 60 years. JR served as president of the Illinois Nurserymans Association. He was a member of the Buckley American Legion and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Gilman with Rev. Pete Hinrich officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Burial will follow in the Onarga Cemetery in Onarga.

Memorials may be given to the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Gilman or the donor's choice.

Arrangements are by the Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga.
