Karla K. Laymon, 64, of Gilman passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. She was born November 12, 1956 in Gibson City, the daughter of Carney and Joan (Haerr) Schnepper and she was preceded in death by her mother.
She married Bruce Laymon on July 15, 2000 in Clifton and he survives. Also surviving are her father, Carney Schnepper of Buckley; one brother, Karl Schnepper of Bend, OR; one sister, Rhea (Jeff) Hoover of Thawville; three children, Chandra Kanosky (Jeff Condon) of Onarga, Christopher (Kasey) Kanosky of Gilman and Michael Kanosky (Nancy Graves) of Gilman; and six grandchildren, Brooke, Paige and Jenna Condon, and Kynnedi, Regan and Karter Kanosky.
Karla was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Danforth. She was a cook at the Red Door in Gilman for many years and was also a nursing assistant for Addis Home Health. Karla enjoyed genealogy research, crafting, playing the piano, and loved her cats.
