Juanita "Nan" Nordmeyer

Juanita “Nan” Nordmeyer, 80, of Chebanse passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.  She was born on November 4, 1942 in Kankakee, the daughter of Art and Erna (Dau) Boness and they preceded her in death.  She married Eugene D. “Scooter” Nordmeyer on June 19, 1959 in Chebanse and he preceded her in death on March 18, 2016.

She is survived by one daughter, Julie (Gerald) Cailteux of Clifton; two sons, Randy Nordmeyer of Chebanse and Kevin Nordmeyer of Chebanse; ten grandchildren, Jason (Sarah) LeBeau, Jessica (friend, Leland) Serafini, Jenna (Erik) Papineau, Brandon Nordmeyer, Britni (Tyler) Finegan, Korbyn Nordmeyer, Jordan Calhoun, Ryan (Tara) Cailteux, Rebecca (Shane) McNally and Rachel (friend, Devon) Cailteux; seventeen great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Judith Hisel of Danforth, David Boness of Danforth, Carol (Dennis) Benoit of Chebanse and Elaine (Paul) Munoz of Bradley.

Juanita was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Chebanse. Juanita was a long-time cashier at That Card Shop and Ultra Foods, to name a few. She loved to play cards and bingo. She spent the majority of her days on the phone catching up with family and friends. Juanita was committed to making sure her family knew Jesus and also knew how much she loved each one of them. 

A visitation will be from 3:00 pm until the 6:00 pm memorial service on Friday, July 28, 2023 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chebanse.  Rev. Benjamin Hayter will officiate.  Private burial will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church in Chebanse or Family’s Wishes.

Arrangements are by the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.
