Joseph M. Dundas, 50, formerly of Clifton, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 22, 2022, from his home in Phoenix, Ariz.
Joe was born July 19, 1972, in Kankakee, the son of James M. and Loretta B. (Demers) Dundas. He married Cynthia Gutierrez in Las Vegas, Nev., on July 21, 2003. She survives, along with their sons, James, Adam and Joshua Dundas, in Phoenix, Ariz. On June 4, 2022, Joe married Tara Reinert, in Phoenix, Ariz.
Joe earned a doctorate degree in bioinformatics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He became proficient at coding and produced the popular billing program, Therabill. In 2018, he completed the Ironman Triathlon.
He and his boys were very active and always going on adventures. His boys describe him as passionate, caring, loving and good at Dad jokes. Joe was most of all, proud of his sons, who are amazing young men.
Besides his three sons and former wife, he is survived by his current wife, Tara, of Phoenix, Ariz.; his parents, of Clifton; and his best friend/brother, Sean Hass (Melissa) and their children, Philip and Buddy, all of Clifton, and Holly, of Phoenix, Ariz. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from both sides of the local Dundas and Demers families. Family and friends all have many fond memories of Joe.
A celebration of life will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton. A private family dinner will follow.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
