ST. JOSEPH – Jason D. Kofoot, 47, of St. Joseph, IL. died peacefully at 4:10 a.m. At the St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO. His family prayed with him earlier and his parents were with him at his passing. Jason was born August 17, 1975 in Champaign, IL. He is survived by Austin (son), and Shelby Kofoot (daughter) of St. Joseph; his parents Lyle and Beverly (Hustedt) Kofoot, sister Kimberly Kofoot, (fiancé) Rick Miller of Watseka, IL. and niece Taylor Neill of Bloomington, IL.
Jason graduated Watseka H.S in 1994. He graduated from Kankakee C.C. with a degree in Applied Sciences in 1996, and graduated from Parkland C.C. with a degree in Construction Design and Management in 1998. For many years Jason was a highly regarded engineering designer who focused on designing Illinois roadways and bridges. He served on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Association of Engineering Technology Professionals.
Jason also contributed to his community in many ways. He was an active member of the St. Joseph First United Methodist Church, St. Joseph Masonic Lodge No.970 and the ANSAR Shriners Temple. He coached youth wrestling and football for several years and served on the St. Joseph Youth Football Board. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his children. He will be greatly missed.
A CELEBRATION of LIFE will be held at the First United Methodist Church 301 S. Fourth St. Watseka, IL on November 25, 2023 at 2:00p.m. Please come dressed casually and be prepared to share your good memories of Jason.
