James Earl Wright

James Earl Wright, 83, of Woodland passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at his home in Woodland. He was born on April 28, 1938 in Clinton County, KY, the son of Roy and Dorothy (Cross) Wright. He married Helen McCann in Hoopeston on November 8, 1958 and she preceded him in passing on March 16, 2006. He later married Wilda Fuoss in Tipton, IN on March 26, 2007.

Surviving are his wife, Wilda Fuoss Wright of Woodland; one son, Stanley L. Wright of Woodland; three daughters, Sandra (James) Shreves of Nashville, TN, Dawn "Renee" (David) Anderson of Hatton, ND, and Sherri (Donald) Gerdes of Thawville; daughter in law, Kris Fuoss of Roberts; three brothers, Fred (Thelma) Wright of Milford, Carl (Jeannie) Wright of Maryland, and Marvin (Debbie) Wright of Watseka; two sisters, Grace Brown of Hoopeston and Wanda (Larry) Wallace of Hoopeston; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-nine great grandchildren.

Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Helen; two sons, James Dale Wright and David Fuoss; one infant son, Steven; daughter in law, Judy Wright; grandson, Dillon Anderson; and brother, George Wright.

He worked until his retirement at Union Pacific Railroad for thirty-nine years. James loved fishing, camping, and playing guitar and singing. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Knapp Funeral Home in Milford and one hour prior to the services on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 am.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Knapp Funeral Home in Milford. Rev. Brent Zastrow will officiate. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery in Stockland.
