James H. Roush

James H. Roush, 98, formerly of Gilman, Decatur, and Bourbonnais passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Georgetown Place in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on December 28, 1922 in Gilman, the son of Homer T. and Rose (Post) Roush and they preceded him in death in addition to one sister, Elizabeth Chase. He married Gladys G. Dehm in Watseka on January 16, 1943 and she preceded him in death on October 26, 2013.

He is survived by one daughter, Sharon (Terry) Lundquist of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one son, James A. (Paula) Roush of Chandler, Arizona; three grandchildren, Terry (Kris) Lundquist of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Tammy (Tim) Winans of Roanoke, Indiana, and Britta (Jeff) Dionne of Granite Falls, Washington; eight great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.

James was a member of Gilman United Methodist Church and the Gilman American Legion. He was employed at W.D. Orr International Harvester in Gilman and Standard Oil in Gilman. He was an estimator for McBroom's Body Shop in Bourbonnais. James also owned and operated Auto Action Body Shop in Bourbonnais. James served during WWII in the United States Army.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Gilman United Methodist Church at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Barb Schlatter officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021 also at the Gilman United Methodist Church. Burial will be held immediately following in the Wenger Cemetery in Gilman with graveside military rites by the Gilman American Legion Post 499.

Memorials may be given to Eleos Hospice (4601 Maplecrest Road, Ft. Wayne, IN 46835), Gilman American Legion Post 499, or the Gilman United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are by the Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman.
