James T. Pettigrew

James T. Pettigrew, 73, of Martinton passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at his home. He was born June 2, 1948 in Gideon, MO, whose mother and step father were Jack and Mary Christine (Glozier) Ferdinand. He married Sandra Kujawa and she preceded him in death in 2010 and later his companion, Mary Wood preceded him in passing. He later married Sienna Outsen in Watseka on July 13, 2012 and she survives. Additionally, James was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Jennifer Pettigrew.

Surviving are his wife, Sienna Pettigrew of Martinton; his four children, Jason (Dannielle) Pettigrew of Elgin, Daniel (Jessica) Pettigrew of Wilmington, Amanda (Kyle) Nelson of Herscher, and Jason (Jill) Stirling of Davis, IL; fifteen grandchildren, Mila, Cameron, Kyler, Cole, Aubrey, Paityn, Gavin, Rylan, Ashton, Braedyn, Jaedyn, Zaedyn, Landyn, Gauge, and soon to be Jayce; one brother, Jerry (Linda) Pettigrew of Romeoville; and one sister, Sharon (Dennis) Bailey of Monee.

James served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the Teamsters Union as well as Middle Fork Forrest Preserve. James enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren. He retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Rev Joel Brown will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Anne Cemetery in St. Anne, IL. Graveside military rites will be provided by Watseka American Legion Post 23 and Iroquois County VFW 7450.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the 10:30 funeral service on Saturday at Knapp Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Middle Fork Forest Preserve.
