George Nelson Rasmussen, 87, of Kankakee and formerly of Manteno passed away on March 19, 2023.
George was born on February 11, 1936 in Manteno, the son of Edward and Anna (Franke) Rasmussen and they preceded him in death along with two brothers, Howard and Gerald; four sisters, Edith Dubbert, May Stadt, Mary McKinstry, and Ida Schroeder; one niece, Lynette Walker; and one nephew, Richard Dubbert.
He is survived by sixteen nieces and nephews, Carol A. Suprise, Irma J. Huschka, David M. Stadt, Deborah S. Purkapile, Brenda L. Meudt all of Wisconsin, Laurie Anderson of Peotone; Larry Schroeder of Beecher, Linda McCall of Montana, Nancy Costello and Cliff McKinstry of Florida; Joyce Bollhorst of Kankakee, Don Dubbert of Manhattan, Gayleen Spry of Bradley, James Rasmussen of Sheldon, and Gregg Rasmussen and Joshua Rasmussen of Clifton.
George loved working on the dairy farm.
A memorial visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.
Memorials may be made to the family's wishes.
