Frances W. Fager, 95 of Chebanse passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth. She was born on May 23, 1927 in Milford, a daughter of Fred and Martha (Brutlag) Bohlmann. Frances married Elmer J. Fager on May 1, 1954 in Woodworth and he preceded her in death on October 21, 2017.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet Fager of Kankakee and Jeana (Carl) Hokanson of Chebanse; two grandchildren, Karl (Taylor) Hokanson of Chebanse and Hannah Hokanson (Logan Nesselrodt) of Chebanse; one great-grandchild, Isla Hokanson; two sisters-in-law, Mary Fager of California and Joan Fager of Tennessee.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by both of her parents; her brother, Frank Bohlmann; brothers-in-law, Harold Fager, Wendel Fager, Smiley Fager, and Lorenz Fager; and sisters-in-law, Geneva Fager and Bernice Bohlmann.
Frances was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Chebanse. She was involved in Ladies Aid, former Sunday School teacher, and helped with funeral luncheons for many years. Frances tended a large garden and loved watching crops grow. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crafting. Frances especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton and also one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chebanse with Rev. Benjamin Hayter officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Chebanse.
