Edith Irene Roberts

Edith Irene Roberts, 83, of Joliet and formerly of Gilman passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023 at River Crossing of Joliet.  She was born on August 21, 1940 in Kankakee, the daughter of Edgar and Irene (Butler) Boudreau.  She married Dr. Richard (Doc) Roberts at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Kankakee on May 6, 1962 and he preceded her in passing on June 20, 2013.

Surviving are one son, Phillip (Rebecca) Roberts of Channahon, IL; one daughter, Michelle Maki of Colorado; five grandchildren, Kaleb Hartke, Cory Maki, Logan Rinkenberger, Lucas Roberts, and Cole Roberts; and one sister, Johann Sula of Tennessee.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Richard; and one sister, Rachel Lemenager.

Edie was very artistic and enjoyed both oil painting and china painting.  She was a beautician and a local girl scout leader for many years in the area.

Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 pm on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman.  A 3:00 pm service will follow.

Memorials may be made to The Girl Scouts of America.
