Cheryl A. Gocken

Cheryl A. Gocken, 69, of Milford passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.  She was born on June 28, 1954 in Watseka, a daughter of John P. and Daphne (Sewell) Wixon. Her father preceded her in death along with an infant brother.   Cheryl married John E. Gocken in Milford on May 6, 1979 and he survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Ricci (David) Dews of Mt. Holly, AR, Nina (Todd) Surber of Milford and Georgia (Kevin) Woodby of Milford; two sons, Jeremiah Gocken of Milford, Samual (Karey) Gocken of Buckley; one sister, Deb (Roger) Claiborne of LaFollete, TN; one brother, John (Lori) Wixon of Cissna Park; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and her mother, Daphne Wixon of Watseka.

Cheryl enjoyed reading, playing cards, knitting, and watching the Chicago Bears.  She loved doing family research for genealogy.

Memorials may be given to the Old Courthouse Museum.

Cremation rites will be accorded by the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.
