Carol Jean Rench, 79, of Watseka passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at her residence. She was born on September 20, 1942 in Kankakee, the daughter of LeRoy James and Pearl Ida (Lappin) Hummel and they preceded her in death. She married William L. Rench on December 31, 1994 in Watseka and he preceded her in death on June 20, 2017.
She is survived by one son, Joshua Howard of Indianapolis, IN; one daughter, Bethany Keller of Watseka; one sister, Joyce (Greg) Koon of East Bethel, MN; four grandchildren, Whitney (Matt Winkeler) Keller, Lindsey (Marcus) Dierlam, Ethan Keller, and Isabelle Keller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol enjoyed gardening, bird watching, sewing, and researching her family history. After retiring from Ethan Allen Distribution Center, she worked several years at the Iroquois County Historical Society and the Genealogy Society. Carol's back porch was well known for its view of her beautiful flower gardens and hosting all sorts of social gatherings.
Visitation will be from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Trinity Church in Watseka as well as one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Trinity Church in Watseka with Pastor Ryan Mustered officiating.
Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice.
