Carmen Santillan

Carmen Santillan, 78, of Onarga passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka. She was born on July 7, 1943 in Nuevo León, Mexico, the daughter of Norberto and Maria (Perez) Patlan and they preceded her in death. Carmen married Esequiel Santillan in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico on January 7, 1961 and he preceded her in death on September 9, 2004. She was also preceded in death by one brother and one grandson.

Carmen is survived by eight daughters, Cecilia Santillan of Onarga, Diana Santillan of Onarga, Claudia Santillan of Onarga, Maria (Elias) Garcia of Onarga, Patricia (Armando) Pizano of Onarga, Gloria (J. Guadalupe) Munoz of Onarga, Nora (Rueben) Munoz of Gilman, Laura (Pedro) Vasquez of Rome, GA; one son, Juan Santillan of Onarga; five sisters, Maria G. Perez of Onarga, Rosa Salazar of Onarga, Juanita Paredes of Laredo, TX, Dora Patlan of Laredo, TX, Maria Munos of Bryan, Texas; one brother, Maxima Patlan of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico; thirteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilman with Fr. Marek Herbut officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service. Burial will follow at the Onarga Cemetery.
