Carl E. Kaufman

Carl Kaufman passed away on October 5^th, 2023.   He was born on May 6^th, 1943 in Watseka, IL to Herman and Florence Marie (Prault) Kaufman who have both preceded him in death.  He married Rose (Fawbush) Kaufman on May 13^th, 1982 in Kankakee, IL.

Carl is survived by his wife, Rose along with his 2 brothers Don Kaufman of Morris, IL and Gail (Marie) Kaufman of Watseka, IL.    Also surviving Carl are his in-laws Jim (Amy) Fawbush (Indiana), Luann Howard (Texas), Brenda Fawbush (Texas) and Donna Hammitt (Texas).  He was blessed with many nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews, and great great nieces/nephews from both his family as well as his wife's family.

He was also preceded in death by parents-in-law Raymond and Marie (Taden) Fawbush, brother-in-law Joseph Hammitt, sisters-in-law Audrey Kaufman and Delores Kaufman, nieces Helena (Howard) Taylor and Kendra Fawbush, nephew Kevin Kaufman, great nephew Casey Kaufman, and great great niece Addison Taylor.

Carl served his country in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1968 during the Vietnam war.  He worked for the majority of his working career at Uarco/Standard Register in Watseka, IL.  He was an active member for quite some time in both the Watseka American Legion Post #23 and the Iroquois County Law Enforcement Association.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, November 4^th, 2023 at the St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Crescent City, IL starting at 11 AM.  Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 11 AM also at the cemetery prior to the start of the Graveside Service.  For anyone who would like to sit down during the visitation or service, please bring a lawn chair with you.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Carl’s name to the donor’s choice.
