Darla Sweet-Eichenlaub

September 20, 1937 - April 17, 2022

Darla Sweet-Eichenlaub, 84, of Watseka passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at her daughter’s residence in Watseka. She was born on September 20, 1937 in Chicago, a daughter of Vito and Bernice (Gauthier) DeBattista and they preceded her in death. Darla married James C. Sweet Sr. in Chicago in May of 1955 and he preceded her in death on October 26, 1983. Darla is survived by two daughters, Toni (Greg) Myers of Watseka and Deborah Sweet-Curtis of Watseka; two grandchildren, Nicholas (Suzi) Kempen and Andrew (Shauna) Kempen; four great-grandchildren, Braden, Bella, Ben and Emma; and one sister, Sharon Harding of Port Richey, Florida. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Martin DeBattista; one sister, Barbara Plucinski; and one son, James Sweet Jr.; and one grandchild, Brittney Marie Curtis. Darla worked for many years as an Activity Director at Crestwood Heights in Crestwood. She was an avid Notre Dame fan as well as NASCAR and she loved crafting.
