Thomas Sagen, 74, Loda, IL

Thomas Sagen, 74, of Loda passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at his home.

Thomas was born January 12, 1938 in Chicago, a son of Stanley and Mary Tomzack Sagen.  He married Mary Hecht on August 29, 1959 in Chicago and she survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Mark (Jeri) Sagen of New Lenox, David (Teresita) Sagen of Rantoul and Richard Sagen of Breckenridge, CO; two daughters, Margaret (Phillip) Staffel of Tinley Park and Ann (Richard) Kipper of Monee; two children, Jessica Sagen of Rantoul and Michael Sagen of Savoy; two grandsons, T.J. Sagen of Chicago and Robert Sagen of DeKalb; one great-granddaughter, Clara Sagen; and one brother, Bob (Shari) Sagen of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Sagen was a band director at Oak Lawn and Hometown District 123.  He was a member of Knights of Columbus.

A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loda.  Fr. Jose Kadukunnel will officiate. 

Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Knapp-Miller Funeral Home in Paxton and 1 hour prior to the Funeral Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
