Milton C. Meyer, 89, Cissna Park, IL

Milton C. Meyer, 89, of Cissna Park passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at his home.

Milton was born April 12, 1923 in Beardstown, a son of C.J. “Jake” and Rosa Martha Ring Meyer.  He married Marie E. Burlage on February 24, 1946 in Arenzville and she preceded him in death on February 3, 2006.

Surviving are three sons, Ronald Meyer of Milford, Roger (Rita) Meyer of Clarence and Robert Meyer of Santa Fe, NM; three daughters, Carolyn (Harvey) Mink of Alpharetta, GA, Sheryl (John) Wagner of Glen Ellen and Pamela (Dean) Rood of Sacramento, CA; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Donald (Roberta) Meyer of Jacksonville and Eileen Meyer of Arenzville; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Lawrence, Kenneth and Dr. C.H. Meyer.

Mr. Meyer was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park, Rankin Elementary School Board, Rankin High School Board and Rankin Co-op Elevator Board.  He was a retired farmer and had been treasurer for Grace Lutheran Church Board in Rankin and Trinity Lutheran Church Board in Cissna Park.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park.  Rev. Tim Hahn will officiate.  Burial will be in the Cissna Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park, Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth or Carle Hospice.
