Marvin E. Hari, 89, Cissna Park, IL

Marvin E. Hari, 89, of Cissna Park passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Illinois Knights Templar Home in Paxton.

Marvin was born Aug. 24, 1922 in Cissna Park, a son of Albert and Carrie Knapp Hari.  He married Floy Maxine Allen in Cissna Park on January 16, 1944 and she preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 2004.

Surviving are a son, Victor (Bonnie) Hari of Gilman; a daughter, Melva (Bill ) Betka of Cissna Park; four sisters, Cora Lehman and Verna Baurer of Peoria, Wilma Stock of Hoopeston, and Deloris Umach of Michigan; three grandchildren, Dale Hari of Aurora, Corey Betka of Champaign, and Christine Williams of Tolono; and 5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ray & Al Hari.

Mr. Hari farmed in the Cissna Park area until retiring at the age of 70.  He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Cissna Park and the I and I Tractor Club. He was an avid collector of tractors and enjoyed doing cross stitching, stained glass work, and puzzles.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Knapp Funeral Home Cissna Park.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Cissna Park. The ministers of the church will officiate. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.  Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Cissna Park.

Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Church or to the I and I Tractor Club.
