Harry Bottorff Jr., 77, Onarga, IL

Harry Bottorff Jr., 77, of Onarga passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Heritage Health in Normal.

Harry was born May 14, 1934 in Onarga, a son of Harry and Helen G. Dirks Bottorff Sr. and they preceded him in death.

Surviving are three children, Kimberly Bottorff of Bloomington, Cary (Meg) Bottorff of Bloomington and Valerie Bottorff Parks of Houston, TX; one sister, Sharon Bottorff (Peter Bell) of Minneapolis, MN; two grandchildren, Bailey Bottorff and Mitchell Bottorff both of Bloomington; one niece, Jessica Bell and one nephew, Brian Bell both of Minneapolis, MN.

Mr. Bottorff was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gilman and Lutheran Brotherhood Men in Mission.  He graduated from Onarga High School in 1952, served in the Army and worked at Uarco as a form designer for 45 years.  Harry was an avid Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and Fighting Illini fan and enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s ball games.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2012 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gilman.  Rev. Pete Hinrich will officiate.  Burial will be in the Onarga Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Onarga American Legion Post #551.

Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Gilman, American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
