			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Melvin G. Schroeder, 72, of Wellington, IL passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Hoopeston Community Memorial Hospital in Hoopeston, IL.</p>
<p>Visitation will run from 4-8 p.m on Monday, Aug. 2, at Knapp Funeral Home in Milford where services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3. Rev. Kenny Ramsey will officiate. Burial will be at Sugar Creek Cemetery in Stockland, IL.</p>
<p>Mr. Schroeder was born Jan. 31, 1938 in Milford, IL, a son of Charles and Ruth Carter Schroeder. He married Brenda L. Brewster on Feb. 14, 2005 in Wellington, IL and she survives.</p>
<p>Other survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Henrichs and husband, Allen of Onarga, IL and Julie Reeder and husband, Charles of Milford, IL; four sons, Steve Schroeder and wife, Amanda of Carmi, IL, Mike Schroeder and wife, Kimberly of Milford, IL, Donald Schroeder and wife, Trisha of Loda, IL and Darrin Brewster and wife, Liz of Wellington, IL; two sisters, Lois Charlene Schroeder and Waneta Lane both of Milford, IL; five brothers, Terry Schroeder of Milford, IL, Rodney Schroeder and wife, Addie of Hoopeston, IL, Charles Schroeder of Kentland, IN and Ronnie Schroeder of Milford, IL; twenty-five grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister; one son, Melvin and one granddaughter.</p>
<p>Mr. Schroeder worked at the Wellington Grain Company for forty years. He was a member of the Hoopeston American Legion, was an avid woodworker and loved collecting guns and knives.</p>
<p>Memorials may be made to the Melvin G. Schroeder Memorial Fund.</p>

<p>Visitation will run from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service on Thursday, July 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park. Rev. Benjamin Meyer will officiate. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Cissna Park. Military graveside rites will be provided by the Cissna Park American Legion Post #527.</p>
<p>Mr. Roberts was born June 17, 1923 in Fairbury, IL, a son of Chester and Iva Metz Roberts. He married Ruth M. Scheiwe on Sept. 27, 1942 in Boswell, IN and she survives.</p>
<p>Other survivors include two sons, Joseph M. Roberts Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Momence, IL and Jim R. Roberts and his wife, Lin, of Mokena, IL; one sister, Joy Roy and her husband, Don, of Eddieville, IL; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>He was preceded in death by his parents.</p>
<p>Mr. Roberts served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during WWII, from 1944 to 1945. He started his career selling insurance by working for Country Companies for ten years and then started up Roberts Insurance Agency in Cissna Park. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park and had also been a member of the Cissna Park American Legion Post #527 for over fifty years. He was an avid fisherman and golfer and loved spending time with his family.</p>
<p>Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Cissna Park, Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth or the Joseph Marion Roberts Memorial Fund.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Elizabeth Lynne Schneider, 51, of Clifton, IL passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at her home.</p>
<p>Visitation will run from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28 at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, at St. Peter&#8217;s Catholic Church in Clifton. Rev. Vern Arseneau and Rev. Charles Wheeler will officiate. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Chebanse, IL.</p>
<p>Ms. Schneider was born Feb. 7, 1959 in Kankakee, IL, a daughter of Lionel and Lorretta Correll Schneider.</p>
<p>Survivors of Ms. Schneider include her parents of Clifton, IL; one sister, Dawn Williams of Bourbonnais, IL; one nephew, Kyle Haynes of Bourbonnais, IL; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.</p>
<p>She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Truman and Helen Correll and William and Irene Schneider.</p>
<p>Ms. Schneider was a member of St. Peter&#8217;s Catholic Church in Clifton. She enjoyed crafting, working puzzles, attending flea markets and spending time with her family. Over the years she had been empoyed by Littelfuse, Chicago Steel Tape and Baker &amp; Taylor Company.</p>
<p>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.</p>

<p>Mrs. Post was born Dec. 31, 1917 in Crescent City, a daughter of Henry and Rose Bruniga Rabe. She married  Edward Post on Sept. 25, 1938 in Crescent City and he survives.</p>
<p>Other survivors include twelve godchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend, Vesta Metz of Crescent City.</p>
<p>She was preceded in death by her parents and two godchildren.</p>
<p>Mrs. Post was a member of St. Peter&#8217;s Lutheran Church in Crescent City where she taught Sunday School for thirty-eight years. She was a former member and past president of Mission Society; a member of A.A.R.P.; and volunteered at Prairieview Lutheran Home and for the American Red Cross.</p>
<p>Memorials may be made to St. Peter&#8217;s Lutheran Church in Crescent City, IL or Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth, IL.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Mary Ellen Lucas, 81, a native of Onarga, IL, died July 20, 2010 at her home in Springfield, VA<span style="color: #008000;"> </span>following a brief battle with cancer.</p>
<p>Funeral services will be at Knapp Funeral Home, 115 W. Seminary Ave., Onarga, IL, at 2 PM Saturday, July 31, 2010, with Methodist Pastor Elizabeth Reis officiating.  Interment will follow immediately at the Onarga Township Cemetery.</p>
<p>Mary Ellen was born on December 9, 1928 in Onarga, IL.  She was one of 12 children born to William and Gussie Dannehl.  She married Charles Lucas on February 23, 1951.</p>
<p>Mary Ellen was a dedicated Air Force wife and avid volunteer worker.  She accompanied her husband on military assignments over 20 years, including seven years in Germany.  A Pentagon assignment brought them to the Nation’s Capital in 1966 and residency in Springfield, VA.  She was a member of Springfield’s American Legion Auxiliary Post 176 for more than 25 years, serving as a volunteer in its Bingo Program and bimonthly Blood Drives.  In addition, she worked as a Red Cross volunteer for more than 10 years in the Pharmacy at Fort Belvoir’s Dewitt Community Hospital where she was selected as the 2009 Volunteer of the Year.  She was honored by the Air Force Association for hosting its Outstanding Airmen of the Year program for 30 years at its annual National Convention.</p>
<p>Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Charles; a sister, Erna Mae Danforth of Onarga IL; and two brothers, Robert (Ruth) Dannehl of Watseka, IL, and Wayne (Carole) Dannehl of Hayward, WI.</p>
<p>Mrs. Lucas was preceded in death by her son Dean; her parents; brothers Henry, Kenneth, Lester, Russell and Raymond Dannehl; and sisters Margaret Tistra, Viola White, and Dorothy Lambert.</p>
<p>In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Mary’s memory may be sent to the D. L. Reed Scholarship Fund, the Onarga Historical Society, or the donor’s choice.</p>

<p>Mrs. Gudeman was born Nov. 30, 1919 in rural Rankin, IL, a daughter of Fred and Marie Bauman Schupbach. She married Wilbert J. Gudeman on Feb. 2, 1946 in Danville, IL and he preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 2006.</p>
<p>Survivors include seven children, Victor (Carin) Gudeman of Bloomington, IL, Roger (Nelle) Gudeman of Lexington, IL, Velma Bird of Bloomington, IL, Alice (Leonard) McKean of Cissna Park, IL, Jeffrey (Rena) Gudeman of Wellington, IL, Marvin (Karen) Gudeman of Wadddell, AZ, and Harry (Linda) Gudeman of Lafayette, IN; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Lucille Steffen of Eureka, IL, and Frieda Schupbach and Rosella and Andy Bauer all of Cissna Park, IL; one brother-in-law and spouse, Ed and Dottie Gudeman of Greenwood, IN; two sisters-in-law, Caroline Gudeman and Myrtle Schupbach, both of Cissna Park, IL; sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchidren.</p>
<p>Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.</p>
<p>Mrs. Gudeman had been a teacher for twenty-five years and was a charter member of the Christian Bible Church in Cissna Park, IL.</p>
<p>Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice or Radio Bible Class.</p>

<p>Mr. Swartz was born May 11, 1946 in Trenton, NJ, a son of Jeff and Mary Ludvick Swartz. He married Kathie Shuper on April 9, 1977 in Watseka, IL and she survives.</p>
<p>Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Stacey and Jim Bruno of Kankakee, IL and Jamie and Josh Jolley of Bloomington, IL; one son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Abby Swartz of Watseka; one sister and brother-in-law, Myra and Ted Lease of Watseka; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeff and Betty Swartz of Orlando, FL and John and Anna Swartz of St. Cloud, FL; and six grandchildren, Austyn, Andrew and Abbie Bruno, Ava and Owen Swartz and Mason Jolley.</p>
<p>He was preceded in death by his parents.</p>
<p>Mr. Swartz served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Watseka, Watseka American Legion Post #23, and Iroquois County VFW Post #7450. He was a retired member of Teamsters Local #705, having driven five years for Eastern Express and twenty-five years for Rudolf Express.</p>
<p>Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or Wounded Warriors.</p>

<p>Ms. delFierro was born Aug. 15, 1939 in Peoria, IL, a daughter of Donald and Elta Fern Jackson Martin. She married Cesar delFierro in 1966 in Peoria, IL and later was divorced from him.</p>
<p>Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Michael Martin and Lisa delFierro of Watseka; one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Larry Renfrow of Irving, TX; and two grandchildren, Samantha and Alex.</p>
<p>She was preceded in death by her parents.</p>
<p>Ms. delFierro was an LPN. She loved spending time with her family and pets, enjoyed riding horses and was an avid reader.</p>
<p>Cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Clarabelle Gillenwater, 78, of Herod, IL, formerly of Watseka, IL, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, IL.</p>
<p>Visitation will run from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, at Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka, IL, where services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21. Rev. Joe Dapelo will officiate. Burial will be at Iroquois Memorial Park in Watseka, IL.</p>
<p>Mrs. Gillenwater was born April 2, 1932 in Watseka, IL, a daughter of Ernest and Ethel Tharp Shafer. She married Jackson Billy Gillenwater on Jan. 15, 1949 in Watseka, IL and he preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1986.</p>
<p>Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Janice and Roy H. Flynn of Herod, IL and Susan Pigg of Boise, ID; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Sandy Gillenwater and Jay and Cindy Gillenwater, all of Watseka; nineteen grandchildren and thirty-seven great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.</p>
<p>Mrs. Gillenwater was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Watseka; Watseka American Legion Auxiliary; and Iroquois County VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed word search puzzles, playing cards and crocheting.</p>
<p>Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Arthur C. Jensen, 97, of Watseka, IL, formerly of Clifton, IL passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Watseka Rehab and Healthcare Center.</p>
<p>A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, at Zion Lutheran Church in Clifton, IL. Rev. William Callister will officiate. Burial will be at Clifton Cemetery in Clifton, IL.</p>
<p>Mr. Jensen was born Oct. 4, 1912 in Clifton, IL, a son of Lars K. and Minnie Petersen Jensen. He married Alice H. Regnier on Aug. 30, 1941 in Clifton, IL and she preceded him in death on May 31, 2009.</p>
<p>Survivors include one daughter, Linda Kramer of Florida; one goddaughter, Karen Klecan of Watseka; one sister, Doris Tutt of Saukville, WI; one brother, Kenneth Jensen of Clifton; and several nieces and nephews.</p>
<p>Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eloise Trail.</p>
<p>Mr. Jensen was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clifton, IL. He enjoyed baseball and hockey.</p>

<p>Mrs. Durflinger was born Dec. 11, 1939 in Watseka, IL, a daughter of John Lester and Ruth Mae Glines Sapp.  She was married to Albert Durflinger and he preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1993.</p>
<p>Survivors include one son, Avery Durflinger Sr. of Watseka; three daughters and one son-in-law, Bertha Durflinger of Ohio, Ruth and Danny Arthur of Greencastle, IN and Susie Durflinger of Gibson City, IL; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Paul; and one daughter, Nellie.</p>

<p>At Tom&#8217;s request, a Celebration of Life Service will be at his business, Wolfe Burial Vault Company in Chebanse, on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.  Casual dress is requested.    A private family graveside service will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Chebanse. </p>
<p>Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010 at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton.</p>
<p>Mr. Wolfe was born on July 7, 1931 in Chebanse, a son of William &#8220;Billy&#8221; and Marguerite Mihm Wolfe.  He married Donna Graves on November 19, 1955 in Kankakee.  She preceded him in death on May 16, 2002.</p>
<p>Survivors include one son, Rod (Sue) Wolfe of Chebanse, two daughters, Polly (David) Demers and Dawn (Kyle) Hansen all of Kankakee, eight grandchildren, Luke (Amber) Wolfe of Bloomington, Hope Wolfe of Homestead, FL, Holli Wolfe of Kankakee, Lindsay (fiance, Michael Diggs) Demers of St. Joseph, MI, Ginny Demers of Jacksonville, FL, Jamie Demers, Michael Hansen and Hannah Hansen all of Kankakee, one great-grandchild, Kingston Wolfe of Bloomington; one sister, Bonnie Winterroth of Chebanse, and many classmates and friends.</p>
<p>He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Shirley and Virgil &#8220;Bode&#8221; Wolfe and three sisters, Arvilla Curio, Phyllis Bishop and Audrey Gull.</p>
<p>Mr. Wolfe served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  He was the owner &amp; operator of Wolfe Burial Vault Company in Chebanse. He was also co-owner of County Line Crematory in Chebanse. He was a member of the Chebanse Lions Club and served on the Jesse Bell Lane Park Board and Evergreen Cemetery Board.  He was a Chebanse Village Trustee.  Tom enjoyed bird watching, gardening, visiting the Ozarks with his family and spending time with his family, friends and classmates that visited him daily.</p>
<p>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kankakee Valley Hospice, Evergreen Cemetery or Riverside Foundation c/o Nursing Excellence.</p>

<p>Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Sharon Hanson Jr. of St. Anne; one granddaughter and spouse, Beth and Shannon Anderson of Clifton; one grandson and spouse, Joe and Kathleen Hanson of Normal; and five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jacob and Adrienne Anderson and Noah and Luke Hanson.</p>
<p>Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, John and Joseph; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Marjorie and Stanley Jensen, Maxine and Ed Hanson and Loretta and George Hanson.</p>
<p>Mrs. Hanson was a member of St. Peter&#8217;s Catholic Church in Clifton. She was a lifelong resident of the area and enjoyed gardening.</p>
