Donald E. Carlson, 74, of Donovan passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Miller Center in Kankakee.

Donald was born April 6, 1938 in Watseka, a son of Carl O. and Enid Bloomquist Carlson.  He married Carol L. Strand on September 11, 1963 in Sheldon and she preceded him in death on May 27, 2006.

Surviving are two sons, Darrin (Joy) Carlson of Donovan and Jeff (Erica) Carlson of Iroquois; and three grandchildren, Kaleb, Drake and Conner.

In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Karl.

Mr. Carlson was a lifetime farmer in the Donovan area.  He collected John Deere tractors and enjoyed tractor pulls.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the 7:00 p.m. memorial service on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.  Rev. Bobbi Shultz will officiate.  Private burial will be in the Prairie Dell Cemetery in Iroquois.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
