Darrell E. Brandenburg, 70, Sheldon, IL

Darrell E. Brandenburg, 70, of Sheldon passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka.

He was born on July 6, 1941 in Iroquois, a son of Lafayette and Hulda Wolford Brandenburg.  He married Robin Peoples on July 30, 1997 in Watseka and she survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Vicky (Robert) Gray and Pam (Charles) DeWitt both of Watseka; two sons, Darrell “Chip” Brandenburg and Steven Lee Brandenburg both of Lafayette, IN; one brother, Richard Brandenburg of Sheldon; one half-brother, Dale Brandenburg of North Carolina; one half-sister, Florence Rabe of North Carolina; two step-daughters, Cherri Lane and Shanna Light both of Sheldon; and twelve grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 4-6 p.m. at Knapp Funeral Home in Sheldon.  Burial will be in the Sheldon Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Diabetes Foundation, or to the family.
