Joan H. Breeling, 80, Watseka, IL

Joan H. Breeling, 80, of Watseka passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Heartland Health Care Center in Paxton.

Mrs. Breeling was born March 30, 1930 in Dayton, OH, a daughter of William and Ruth Elson Kauffman.  She married Keith Breeling on April 2, 1955 in Dayton, OH and he survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Scott Breeling, Todd (Connie) Breeling and Dana (fiancee, Susan McIntyre) Breeling all of Watseka; one daughter, Pam (Merrill) Crowley of Watseka; one sister, Janice Sparrow of Winston Salem, NC; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and one grandchild, Justin.

Mrs. Breeling was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Watseka and United Methodist Women.  She served as president of the United Methodist Women Association.  Joan was a registered nurse at Iroquois Memorial Hospital in Watseka where she also volunteered.   She was Modern Woodsman Citizen of the Year in 2007.  She was very active in her church, in her community and was a caregiver.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Watseka.  Rev. Paul Copeland will officiate.  Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church.
