Katherine “Kitty” Jensen, 81, Clifton, IL

Katherine “Kitty” Jensen, 81, of Clifton, IL passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010 at Merkle-Knipprath Nursing Home in Clifton.

Visitation will run from 4-7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 26 at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton, with a 5:30 p.m. Prayer Service. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Clifton. Rev. Vern Arseneau will officiate. Interment will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Clifton.

Mrs. Jensen was born March 28, 1928 in Lansing, IL, a daughter of Charles Edward and Jennie Hoekesma Mitchell. She married Arnold W. Jensen on July 26, 1947 in Clifton and he survives.

Other survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Trudie and Ben Imhauser of Chebanse and Jeanette Ponton and special friend, Bob Berns of Clifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Durl and Donna Jensen of Snellville, GA; one sister- and brother-in-law,  Norma and Merrill “Moe” Lareau of Gilman; one brother- and sister-in-law, Maynard and Ruth Jensen of Ashkum, IL; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother; and one granddaughter, Julie Ponton.

Mr. Jensen had worked as a nurse’s aide. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, St. Peter’s CCW and the Lioness Club. She enjoyed crocheting, painting and gardening.
