Virginia V. Bishopp, 93, Sheldon, IL

Virginia V. Bishopp, 93, of Sheldon, IL passed away on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010 at Sheldon Healthcare Center in Sheldon, IL.

Visitation will run from 3-5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at Knapp Funeral Home in Sheldon where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11. Rev. Van Haas will officiate. Interment will be at Sheldon Cemetery in Sheldon, IL.

Mrs. Bishopp was born April 22, 1916 in Traverse City, MI, a daughter of Harold and Agnes Dumbrille Verrill. She married Barton J. Bishopp on June 20, 1936 in Sheldon, IL and he preceded her in death on July 19, 1988.

Survivors of Mrs. Bishopp include one son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Louise Bishopp of Lafayette, IN; two daughters and one son-in-law, Ann Bishopp of Palatine, IL and Mary and Steve Hardesty of West Lafayette, IN; three brothers, Paul Verrill of California, Douglas Verrill of Colorado and Bernard Verrill of Stoughton, WI; and seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Mrs. Bishopp graduated from Goodland High School and St. Joseph College. She was a teacher and was the Sheldon librarian for several years. She was a member of the United Church of Sheldon.
