Grace C. Walwer, 91, Watseka, IL

Grace C. Walwer, 91, of Watseka, IL passed away on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010 at Watseka Rehab and Healthcare Center in Watseka.

Visitation will run for one hour prior to the 2 p.m. service on Thursday, Feb. 11 at Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Dr. Charles A. Witte will officiate. Interment will be at Prairie Dell Cemetery in Iroquois, IL.

Mrs. Walwer was born April 12, 1918 in Iroquois, IL, a daughter of George and Anna Albright Easter. She married Charles W. Walwer on Aug. 16, 1935 in Crescent City, IL and he preceded her in death on May 2, 1972.

Survivors of Mrs. Walwer include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Mary Lou Walwer of Winter Haven, FL and Dennis and Carolyn Walwer of Woodland; one brother, Lowell Easter of Champaign; twelve grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren and thirty-seven great-great- grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers; one son, Charles; and two daughters, Katherine Walwer and Mary Fry.

Mrs. Walwer had worked at Western Condensor for many years and also worked in retail stores. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Watseka, the Grandmother’s Club and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, bingo and latch-hook crocheting.
