William “Bill” H. Maltman, 79, Onarga, IL

William “Bill” H. Maltman, 79, of Onarga, IL passed away on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 at the Gilman Health Care Center in Gilman, IL.

Visitation will run for one hour prior to the 3 p.m. funeral service on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at Knapp Funeral Home in Onarga. The Rev. Neil Larimore will officiate. Interment will be at the Onarga Cemetery in Onarga, IL. Military rites will be provided by the Onarga American Legion Post #551.

Mr. Maltman was born Oct. 31, 1930 in Cape May Court House, NJ, a son of William Henry and Bernice Liddel Maltman. He married Mardell Hastings on June 20, 1952 in Champaign, IL and she survives.

Other survivors of Mr. Maltman include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert E. and Paula Maltman of Centralia, IL and Wayne A. Maltman of Illinois; two daughters and one son-in-law, Vickie J. and Garry Cole of Colfax, IL and Cindy Green of Bloomington, IL; seven grandchildren, James, Sarah, Alesha, Ashlei, Haleigh, Jennifer and Chelsi; and one great-grandchild, Anthony.

Preceding Mr. Maltman in death were his parents; one daughter, Linda M. Wise; and one granddaughter, Lori Michelle.

Mr. Maltman was a retired U.S. Air Force Technical Sgt., having served during the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening.

Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice.
