Elizabeth A. “Betty” Spring Peden, 51, of Watseka, IL

Elizabeth A. “Betty” Spring Peden died Friday, July 10, 2009 at her home.

Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. A graveside service will be held immdiately afterwards at Body Cemetery in Woodland, IL. Pastor Bobby Netzband will officiate.

Mrs. Peden was born July 16, 1957 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of James and Eddella Roberts Bates. She married Ernest Lee Peden III on December 31, 2008 in Watseka. He survives.

Other survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Estalene and Roy Johnson and Teresa and Nathan Richmond, all of Watseka and Tina and Eugene Tapp of Kankakee; one son, Wayne Nowak of Janesville, WI; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Karen and Ed Kaack of Momence, IL, Jackie and Joe Loosa of Youngsville, LA, Kathy and Scott MacArthur of Kankakee, Roberta Forgue of Newcastle, PA and ToniJo and Guy Bieber of Chandler, AZ; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, James and Gretchen Bates of Chicago, Kenneth and Cheryl Bates of Kankakee and Robert and Arlene Bates of Grovetown, GA; and sixteen grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Peden was a manager at McDonalds. She enjoyed cooking, fishing and the outdoors.
