Lloyd R. Laird, 84, of Watseka, IL

Lloyd R. Laird died Friday, July 3, 2009 at his home.

Private services will take place on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka, IL with the Rev. Wayne Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka, IL.

Mr. Laird was born November 16, 1924, a son of Harris and Kathryn Carter Laird. He married Marjorie M. Stanley on August 27, 1944 in Milford, IL. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mike and Michele Laird of Rantoul, IL and Jeff Laird of Atlanta, GA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynnann and Richard Wethington of Coral Gables, FL and Louann and James Bockman of Yorkville, IL; fourteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Laird was a life-long farmer in the Watseka area and was owner and operator of Laird’s Tree Service for many years. He was past member and Exalted Ruler of Watseka Elks Lodge and past president of Shewami Country Club. He was an avid bowler and golfer.

Memorials may be given to Iroquois Memorial Hospital or Iroquois Memorial Hospice.
